The Local Storytelling Exchange is hosted by the Social Change Nest
What is safeguarding and why is it important to us?
Safeguarding means protecting peoples’ health, wellbeing, and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect[1].
At The Local Storytelling Exchange, we understand it to mean protecting people, including children and at risk adults, from harm that arises from coming into contact with our staff or programmes, this includes consultants and volunteers who are working for us. The Local Storytelling Exchange will not tolerate abuse and exploitation by staff or associated personnel.
How to raise a safeguarding concern
If you have a complaint or concern relating to safeguarding and staff, consultants or volunteers of The Local Storytelling Exchange, you should report it to the Safeguarding Focal Point: lucy.holdaway@localstoryexchange.org / 07816 786 244. For urgent complaints this will be responded to within 24 hours. For non-urgent complaints this will be responded to within 7 days.
